Our Setting

At Healey Preschool, we're dedicated to delivering exceptional early education and care that nurtures every child's growth and development. We offer government-funded childcare entitlement (15 or 30 hours per week) and additional services to enrich your child's experience:

 

•            On-site meals and snacks: Fresh, nutritious hot meals and healthy snacks prepared by our qualified cook

•            Personal care consumables: Wipes, bedding, face cloths, sun cream.

•            Enrichment activities: Music, yoga, storytelling, science experiments, cooking, and baking.

•            Trips and visits: Educational outings and in-house visitors, with increased staff ratios where needed (e.g., park, library, visit to care                home)

•            Access to our Digital Tapestry Learning Journal: Daily updates, weekly photos/videos, and regular progress tracking.

Parental Involvement

We believe that parents play a vital role in their child's learning journey. To keep you informed, we use our secure online Tapestry Learning Journal to share observations, photos, and videos of your child's experiences. You can access this journal at any time and share updates with your family. We also love seeing your child's adventures at home - please feel free to share photos and videos with us, as these help inform our activities and group times. Regular meetings will be arranged to discuss your child's progress and development.

Outdoor learning
 

Our outdoor space is a playground for curiosity and creativity! With lots of areas to discover, your child will love exploring our dedicated sand areas and focussed activity of the week. Our outdoor haven fosters physical skills like balance and coordination through activities like bike riding, navigating our wheeled toys, valancing blocks, and much more. The kitchen is a hotspot for imagination, where pies and potions come to life, and math concepts like weight and capacity are learned through play using various materials. Our Hobbit House offers a cosy spot for socialising, reading, and relaxation, while our climbing frames provide the perfect challenge for little adventurers to climb, balance, and soar.

Planning
 

At Healey Preschool, we plan around children's interests. Each week, a focus activity is planned for indoors and outdoors.

Our weekly focus activity is a hands-on, fun-filled experience that takes learning indoors and outdoors, sparking discovery and excitement!

 

During group time, our keyworkers work one-on-one with their assigned key children, focusing on key developmental areas to promote individual learning and nurturing their unique needs.

 

The children regularly participate in sensory sessions, yoga, meditation, science experiments, and cooking. We ensure all children leave Preschool with a new experience and inspired.
