Can I get 15 hours free childcare?


children aged 3 years is entitled to 15 hours free childcare. Some 2 year olds are also entitled to 15 hours free childcare depending on circumstances. Please see Kirklees Council or get in touch for more info.

Am I entitled to 30 hours free childcare?


If both parents work more than 16 hours a week you may be entitled to 30 hours funded childcare

How much are private fees?


Our fees over and above funded sessions £13.25 per 3 hour session,including lunches, if fully funded Lunches are £2.00. This is inclusive of milk and snacks and consumables. EYPP funding goes towards supporting parents with the cost of snack and consumables.

 

Are you a registered Ofsted Provider?

Our Ofsted Registration number is 311327 and at the most recent inspection we achieved Ofsted 'good' childcare provider.

We are constantly developing and learning to improve the standard of care.

Is Healey Preschool  a local authority school?
 

No, Healey Preschool is an independent community charity registered  1041877 & 1187455. We have been established since 1993. We work closely with the local authority and partner organisations. All income to the preschool is invested back in to the preschool.
 

When can my child start preschool?
 

As soon as your child turns 2 we can welcome them in to preschool. We would love to meet to you and your little ones as soon as possible. We may require you and your child to join us for some free settling in sessions.
 

What is Tapestry?
 

Tapestry is a secure online Learning Journal to record photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, to build up a record of your child’s experiences during their time with us. This system allows us to work with parents and carers to share information and record the children’s play and learning in and outside of the classroom.
 

When can my child leave preschool?

We would love all our children to stay with us until they start school, however we realise this is not always going to happen.
Your child can leave preschool at any time after starting however we require 4 weeks notice to enable us to adjust staffing levels accordingly and compile the transition forms which will go with them to their new setting / school.

 

My child has allergies / Special Educational Needs / Medical needs,can they come to Healey Preschool?
 

Yes - If you are aware of any medical needs, educational needs or allergies please ensure it is  on the application form and speak to us about your child. If your child has learning difficulties and needs extra help our manager / SENDCO will liaise with the local authority to assess your child and get the support your child requires.
 

Can I volunteer at Healey Preschool?
 

Yes -There are a variety of ways to get involved with the preschool

Healey Preschool are a student work placement provider for Kirklees College. We provide placements for students studying Early Years Development  & related subjects.

If you are interested in working in early years and have no experience please get in touch and we can provide you with supervised sessions to help you decide if it's the career for you.

Committee - Healey Preschool is a voluntary committee led preschool. We are always looking for passionate parents to get involved in the leadership of the preschool, whether your background is accounting or education or a trade or want to be involved in party planning and fundraising we would like to hear from you.

Are there any vacancies at Healey Preschool?

There are no specific vacancies at this time however we are always looking to hear from enthusiastic child focused individuals who can improve our setting.

We follow a robust safeguarding recruitment process inline with Kirklees Council's 'Safer Recruitment' guidelines.

All perspective employees will have a new enhanced DBS if they do not already have one on the update system and a minimum of  2 references will be required  alongside explaining in full, any gaps in work history.
